Hi friends! Hope everyone is doing well and settling into March with joy. Cheers to the weather warming up, the flowers starting to bloom, and longer days of sunshine.
Modela and I decided to visit Cabo San Lucas for a couple of months. It will be a nice change of climate from the desert of Arizona to the beaches of Mexico. There is usually a light breeze off the Pacific Ocean and most days are in the mid 20s Celsius.
We live in a golf community at Diamante with three courses we get to explore before the humans tee off. My favorite is the small par three 12-hole Oasis course, as it’s only a kilometer-and-a-bit around and the terrain is the easiest of the three. Modela’s favorite is El Cardonal, mostly for the 12th hole where she gets to chase the ducks into the pond. I have a pretty good feeling this could be her month!
One of my favorite ways to spend the days are overlooking the Dunes golf course and watching the whales play in the ocean. We live at the end of the 11th hole on the course, and it is magical. At sunrise and sunset, the hummocks are glowing with the sun and making a way for the shade to start and end the day. There is a comfort station at the end of the hole too that I get to frequent for the occasional snack. Keep that information between us though, as Mom really doesn’t like it when I go on my walkabouts without supervision.

We will be here for a couple of months. Once spring break comes and goes, we will see the tourist population decrease and it will get quieter in our community. May will be a good month to start heading elsewhere, as the humidity starts to roll in and the average temperature increases into the 30s Celsius. My coat is sooo thick (and beautiful, I will add), but this climate, ugh, I spend the days sweating and itching with very little energy to explore my kingdom.
We arrived Friday afternoon and have settled in quite quickly; however, I am still working on marking all plants, trees, and four corners of the property. It is a big job, and one I take very seriously. Dad took me for my morning walk on Saturday, and we negotiated 20 stops. Let’ see how the rest of the week plays out.
In the meantime, Modela says she is working on a story to share. Likely to include our experiences with the recreation, culture and cuisine of Cabo San Lucas, but you didn’t hear that from me.
We welcome questions and comments to help us connect with you. Have a great week!
